View Full Version : Problem receiving mail with OE6

I'm having trouble receiving mail using Outlook Express6. I only recently started using it - I was using Incredimail with a Yahoo account. I've used it for a few days with no trouble and then tonight it quit receiving messages (don't know about sending as I didn't have any at the moment)

Below is the error message that I keep getting. There is also one for my ISP account.


The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com.au', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com.au', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E


I'd be grateful for any help. It's late here in Australia, so I won't be able to respond to any advice until tomorrow.

Hi Joyce - It looks like you have configured your Account name incorrectly. It should read Your Yahoo! Mail name (your address without the "@yahoo.com.au" I suspect the same might be true of your ISP account. Here (http://au.help.yahoo.com/help/au/mail/pop/pop-03.html) are the settings for yahoo.com.au.

Open OE and go to Tools > Accounts. Select the accounts that you are having problems with and click on Properties. Click on the Servers Tab and make the changes there. Then click on OK and try again.
