Probs. with vista and mediaplayer 11

Hi.

I have a problem playing movies (.avi .divx .xvid .mpg) with mediaplayer 11 in Vista.
In the old XP I had no problems at all after installing the requested codecs, but in Vista I can't play any movies in mediaplayer 11, with any codecs. It seems that the mediaplayer does not accept the codecs I install.

Any one that can help me with this problem?

Hey there --

I for one absolutely hate WMP11 with a fiery passion. I wish there was a way to remove it from my OS. At the moment it lies crippled and weak within a folder, but that simply isn't enough for me.


Anyway, I use Ace Mega Codec's pack. It'll install/use your choice of BSplayer (meh) or media player classic (winner!) and installs so many codecs it's not even funny. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and ALL formats run flawlessly.
