Can't quiet explain it...

but I will explain it as best as possible. I play DoD 1.6 on my laptop and for some reason every like minute the game lags or something and i can't move my mouse or shoot for like a second and then it comes back (by then it's too late). My laptop specs are, Amd Mobile 3400+, 1 gig ram, ATI Radeon 9700 Mobility. You would think the game would run flawlessly on this computer considering the system requirements for the game itself. Perhaps I am missing something? If someone could help me that would be great.

Its most likely your internet connection, because DoD has very low system req's and your pc would run it without a problem.

I find the servers with the lowest latency, usually about 17 and i'm looking at Download Speed: 15414 kbps (1926.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 723 kbps (90.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Like the
rate
cl_updaterate
cl_cmdrate

You only really need to change them if you are getting choke or loss.

I also noticed today while typing in console, that it lags, when i type cl_showfps 1, i can type it but i have to wait about five seconds for it to come up and it slowly types each letter and my mouse lags, so from what i have observed it's the program itself. What could be causing this?
