I think it's a hoax.. a ploy to get you to link to that site.
It is true that when a spider finds that link they will go to that site, but they will not stop spidering your site. Email addresses on your site will still be spidered and used. So there is no "getting sucked in" at all. You're just providing a link to their site in order to improve their search engine ranking, that's all.
