bf2142 connection problems. PLEASE HELP ME!

ive been playing battlefield 2142 for about 6 months now with barely any problems other then the "once a week" connection loss. About a day ago, i have been getting the "problem With your connection" 30 seconds into every round i join. after about a minute or 2, it kicks me back to the list of servers. The odd thing is, my wireless connection says 54 mbps w/ a excellent connection strenght. I dont understand. I had my FioS guy check my router, and open the so called "ports" but that didnt fix anything.

Please help me
any help would be greatly appreciated.

AMD x2 4200 processor
EvGa 7900 GT graphics
2gigs of xms corsair ram
250gb Seagate hd
A8n-Sli deluxe mobo

Yep that same thing happenned to me, apparently wireless connection is poor for online gaming especially FPS' like BF 2142 but mine was ok a few weeks ago with excellent 54mbps signal but now bad lag with the annoying connection message popping up all the time, have you tried unplugging your modem and router or whatever you're using then leaving it for a minute the plug back in that seems to work for a few people.
