Help!!! I have 3 computers in my home all sharing DSL through a gateway from my ISP. On the main coputer, I want to add a gigabit switch and a 10/100/1000 ethernet card. I have the switch and although I read the instructions and built these 3 coputers from scratch...by myself...I canot comprehend the actual connection with the switch...is one computer hooked up to both gateway AND switch? I appreciate your help .:confused:

The layout of that network would be:

dsl modem--->gateway--->switch---->computers

So all the computers that you have running off the gatway would now run off the switch. However the LAN speed will default to the sloweset device on the network. In other words if there is one computer with a 10/100 network adapter on the network then traffic over the LAN will run at 100 not 1000.
