hi, I am trying to burn quicktime movie I made in imovie. I transferred from a camcorder and after editing and adding simple effects I saved it as a .mov video. Everytime After dragging the movie from the desktop into a new project in idvd, I click burn twice but I get a message that the dvd must have at least one video track or one audio track. Result: I cannot burn my project onto a 4.7 GB dvd+R.Any suggestionsThanks

Use the export command in iMovie.

after trying to burn the dvd, IDVD starts background encoding and it actually finishes (is this the actual burning process?) or do I have to something else.
The dvd appears blank when I try to play it on the DVD player.
Thanks

Sorry I don't have iMovie installed anywhere. But I seem to remember an option to "export as iDVD project" You should be able to sue that and pull the project up in iDVD. From there, when you burn, the dvd will be encoded first. This can take quite some time. After the dvd is encoded then it can be burned.

Thanks
After visiting many sites on the subject I found out in Macintouch reader reports that the problem is compatability between early Super drives by Apple and DVD+R discs. I have to use DVD-R.
You are right ,encoding took place but when it was time to burn there was an error message due to the DVD+R disc.
I have iDVD 4, but iDVD 6 is able to burn directly from the camcorder.
Thanks again.
