networking issues

Can any one help me, I have had a wireless connection and I wish to change for an ethernet connection from the router up stairs. I have a media Pc upstairs and also a family media pc downstairs and I wish to have them both wired, as wireless connections keep's droping out, I also run an Xbox 360 and two laptops and also a wii I keep getting an Ip conflict when trying to connect onto my ethernet connection, wirless works fine:hmm:
