remote desktop probs

how can i connect remote desktop to an xp pro machine from a library pc that is windows 2000? the network is set up so i cannot install programs and it will not run .exe files. logmein.com takes ages to load up and fails to connect 95% of the time on the library computers (fine on mine, i think they wont install the java applet). i remember reading about setting up a webpage to go to that will connect to the remote pc. is this possible or is there a better way?

If it is locked down then you don't have much chance.

internet access is no problem. just wondered if i can set up a webpage that will somehow redirect me to the ip address of my home pc so i can connect. is this possible or not?

You would need a Java applet or ActiveX to run RDC from a webpage. If you do not have install rights then you can't do it.
