Ok,

I've set up a page with some link buttons on the left, text in the middle and a picture on the left. On my pc screen everything looks neat and ok, I upload to the web and again on my pc it all looks how it should, but if I use another pc the spacing between the buttons has changed and the picture has moved down a line or two. Any idea why this is, is it because the screen is a different size ? Can items be locked into a position on a screen so if viewed on different sized screens the layout always looks the same. ?

Any help much appreciated,

Gary.

I believe it is because of the different screen resolutions and I think there is a way to get it to scale to whatever resolution the computer is using but I'm a little rusty on the specifics when it comes to website building right now. sorry. I'll leave this for someone who knows more.

Welcome to the wonderful world of web page building, Gary.

Every monitor, every browser, every platform will display your page differently. In order to build a solid web site you must test in them all. You can "lock" things into position somewhat, but there will always be slight changes, especially in Internet Explorer. using Firefox on a PC will generally yield the best results. You should code web pages for Firefox, then fix them for IE.
