My mum is on the same Broadband as me with the same company but hers keep dropping every 10 minutes or so and the only way for her to reconnect it is to turn off the modem & turn it back on.

For example, she'll be viewing a website and then when she goes to type in another URL or click a link it will take 5 minutes and then all of a sudden it will just come back with something like "Server not found: Firefox can't find the server at www.google.com. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection". It's also the same with Internet Explorer.

I have run virus scans, malware scans & checked a lot of things but I can't seem to find the problem. She lives at a different address to me aswell so it can't be to do with anything such as sharing an Internet connection.

It's running Zone Alarm as the firewall, but I've been into Program Control on that and it's allowing connections for Firefox & IE etc... I even tried turning off the firewall but still the same problem.

Is she on a router or just the modem? You might want to try setting a static IP and turning off the dhcp on the modem. If possible, before messing with too much stuff, I would lug another computer to her house and try it. Very often, at least with DSL, the problem is with the lines, sometimes your lines and sometimes the providers. Also make sure she doesn't have any interfering power lines accross her network or phone lines and the phone lines are filtered, if appropriate.
