replacing 2000

i have two systems on my laptop- windows 2000 and xp. I cant get rid of the 2000 off my system because i dont have any partitions on my hard drive. How do i completely format my hard-drive(or even just get rid of 2000)?
Kindly advise.

using your xp cd, boot to repair console, once you get to the prompt, type format c: This will format the drive eliminating everything on it.
