i have a linksys wag300n wireless router, i have it set up and working fine, i have it hardwired to my decktop pc, which im thinking of re-formatting., so i will probably need to get onto the settings page for my router. the trouble is i wrote the password down in the back of the linksys manual, which now seems to have vanished into thin air. even though i had it on remember password it wont let me in. i had a rough idea of what the password was, but ive tried every combination i can think of. is there anyway of restoring the router back to its factory settings? or some other way round the password? or am i going to have to het a new router?:

check the router for a reset button. most linksys routers have a button on the back.

One tip I have to go along with this thread is to save the configuration of your router to your PC. Most if not all routers give you an option from their configuration GUI to save the current config. If you always save your latest config, then if you ever need to do a factory reset getting your router reconfigured is as simple as loading the saved settings file onto the router.
If you've tweaked the settings a bit, this can be a big time saver.
