Almost all the games are crashing!

For example,Nhl 2005,when I enter the game it crashes and says nhl2005.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience!Almost every game I run crashes like that...Nba2007,Football Manager 2007,Oblivion etc...
I think the problem isn't my pc:
Amd Athlon 64 3200+
1 Gb Ram
Radeon 1600xt

maybe its getting too hot. an easy way to find out is to open the case and play the games as normal. If the games dont crash, then its heat from playing the games.

Make sure you have all the latest Windows Updates, patches for the games.

I think a reinstall of Windows would definitely solve your problems but I'd use it as a last option.

Give this a look over Srkyline and see if something there helps.

How many fans do you have in your case? Is it a mid tower case or full tower? Click on the link below and in the drop down box find one of the games and click on it. Then click on can you run it and see what it comes up with. If it doesn't find anything and says that you are ok to run the game or games then take the side panel off and run the games. If your system checks out ok to run the games then I agree with Renegade about a heat problem. Have a small fan blow air into the case while running them to get rid of the heat. The CPU or the video card are causing to much heat. You might consider installing a fan in the top of your case to remove the excess heat. Changing from a mid tower case to a full tower helps with heat problems also. My main system is in my sig. but my backup system is almost the exact thing except it had a mid tower case and a Opteron 148 Oced from 2.2Ghz to 2.904Ghz. and I installed a top exhaust fan in it and it made the temp go from 54C to 37C running HL2, Far Cry and Doom3. It did the same thing that yours is doing before I installed the fan.

I'm not thinking heat issue here, the game doesn't even load. He receives that error message, "Such and Such has encountered a problem and needs to close" This is more of a Windows Issue I believe. I would check the case for dirt build up around the video card fan and the other fans just to be sure. After that you may have to reinstall Windows if this is happening with all your games/apps.
