complete system recovery on my dell laptop...now won't connect

I encountered the "blue screen" bootdisk error. Finally found my 2000 disc and was able to do a complete system restore or whatever its called.

It now boots up...Windows seems to be working fine...however, I cannot connect with the Internet. I would like to upgrade to XP.

Any help??

Please go into system manager and make sure the network driver was loaded and is operating properly
