hi, I don't know if anyone can help me with this. I have an AMD k6 board (400 Mhz) and i have been trying to install windows 2000 on it. I always get to the registering components part of setup and then i get a BSoD (blue screen of death) with the message performing physical memory dump. can anyone help me out with this? Thanks

When setup says press F6 to load SCSI or RAID drivers,
press F7 to disable ACPI.
Then see if the install will run.

Go to start/control panel and double click add hardware.
Let it search for the driver.
Make sure the CD is in the drive.

You may need to check the manufacturers web site for
a windows 200 driver.
Don't know if it will be available for a older machine.

You may want to check ebay for an older sound card with 2000 drivers.

If your soundcard is an .......goes into device manager......... ESS 1869 Driver, you might as well buy a new soundcard.
There was never one available for Windows 2000.
