I have a DELL WEB PC that I shut down a couple of years ago,but the next day when I turned it on I got nothing. Now,it's windows 98. But I can reboot it with Wins 2000 Pro. I need to know if I need to let it load the disc all the way through or where do I stop?

your question is very confusing. Generally speaking if you are loading a disk, you need to load it all the way.

For one thing you can't save games that are installed on the computer via save to disk, cd, floppy, or dvd because the install files are integrated into the system and just trying to save the game, is mostly or certainly impossible. There is software that claims it can save all your games saved on a harddrive but I've never seen those programs work or your game work after using them.
Now if you have other files you would like to save on that computer's harddrive, you can either slave it to another harddrive on another computer or buy an enclosure to place the harddrive in and connect as an external drive.

It was just a game downloaded from a site for free a couple years ago thatall the family like to play and I haven't been able to find it again. And I've already installed Wins2k on the pc.So,no problem.;)

hi
that PC was not used for years.. Its battery is most likely all but dead.
Did you replace the CMOS battery?
a truly dead battery can stop it from booting, you know.

Desktop computers have what is called a CMOS battery and they can go dead as Jaak said, once dead the computer won't boot. This battery is about the size of a nickel and usually resides near the bottom right side on the motherboard. See the photo below for what they look like:
