I've tried over and over again to figure out how to burn DVD's using Nero but I just can't seem to get it right. What I want to do is put some videos from my PC (in the form of .AVI) on to a blank DVD so that I can watch them on DVD Player & TV.

I purchased the latest version of Nero Ultra Edition (Nero 7 I believe) but it doesn't tell you how to burn DVD's. Surely it can't be as complicated as I think it is but maybe it is. Either way, I have no idea how to burn videos to DVD using Nero.

And yes I have a DVD-RW which I purchased & installed about 2 weeks ago which is working fine so that shouldn't be the problem.

I'd appreciate as much help as I can get on this, thank you.

Put the DVD you want to copy in your player/writer. Open Nero. On the Nero opening window mouse over/click on the DVD tab at the top right> click on Copy Disc>Next window select your Source Drive & Destination driver, they should be shown already as default> then click on burn which is in the lower right hand corner and off you go ripping
]Remember though that some discs cannot be copied. They may be copy protected or have errors.

Chapper - how does "copy disc" option help the user burn a DvD from avi movies already on their hard drive?

Vanchatron, I use Nero 6. and i understand a bit of functionality has changed in the newer versions but see if you have NeroVisionExpress installed as part of your Nero package.
This should enable you to author a movie, with chapters and menus etc.

Sorry about that:cry2: I thought he had the disc.
correction: mouse over Make Your Own Video > double click Add Video Files > find your DVD source file & drag to the blank window where you can edit, name, etc. your file & then burn. Hope this is more to your liking.

No problem, wasn't trying to be nasty, just pointing out that it pays to read the post, not just assume that anyone who wants to burn a DvD is actually copying existing discs.
