I want two pieces of software and I wondered if any of you would be able to help me or recommend me some software. Free software would be preferred.

The first piece of software I need is a program that can rip or record MP3 off a DVD. I have a Music Concert DVD and I want to rip some music tracks from it.

The second piece of software I need is a converter that can convert any and all types of videos. From the rarer .FLV to the more popular .MPEG formats, I want a program that converts them all and that converts them reliably. I understand that getting this kind of software with these kind of expectations for free is a bit of a big ask, so please recommend the best.

Thankyou in advance for all your guidance.

Admittedly I'm not the best person to answer here. But MediaCoder has caught my eye more than once and I wonder if it might be worthwhile for you? Free.
