SO here's the story. A buddy of mine and I have this short film due tomorrow, right? Well the editing was going well and we were on the verge of finishing. It took us forever to put the thing together but we were satisfied.

As soon as I leave the room my buddy I guess started to delete stuff that he thought we did not need. Just, we didn't export the video yet. He then clears all the things out of my Recycle Bin. Now, Movie Maker says that the file doesn't exist anymore. It also turns out that my buddy lent the Mini DV tape we used to shoot the movie to his little brother and now the footage is replaced with him and his buds playing video games. We are basically back where we started...20 days ago. :dizzy:

I have been on the computer and on this site for hours, downloading recovery programs that SHOULD have been able to help, but to no avail.

So that's why I must ask "Am I screwed?"

actually it does. Not sure why you were not able to recover the stuff using the different undelete programs you tried.

However, next time, keep a backup. :D

I have been on the computer (and on this site) for hours,
which means you are overwriting the data and every second you do this, you reduce the chances of successful recovery.
Sorry to say that you will struggle :(

Yeah, I guess I should. Also, for some reason my other friend thought we were going to slack off on this short film and made a back-up one just in case. I am SO glad he did that! Even though it's kind of an insult...:D

Thanks anyways!
