Does anyone know what the program "discover drop and play" is used for? I assume it has something to do with video games, but I don't play a lot, so I'm a little clueless. My preschool son plays games on CD's, but nothing fancy. I am getting a pop up window saying that a program is trying to access the website rockford.discoverconsole.com, and I assume that it is the discover program on my computer. We just noticed it doing this after we'd had the computer for about 6 weeks. The only solution I have found is to uninstall the program, but I don't want to do that until someone can tell me exactly what it is. I have looked for info on the internet and can't really find anything. Is there a way to turn off whatever is trying to use the website? Maybe a setting could be changed in Discover?
FYI - I use dial-up AOL and windows XP.

Click Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DISCover) to open a Wikipedia article that explains the basics of DISCover.
Try opening the program itself (look on the Start Menu) to see if it offers a way to disable its automatically connecting.

"DISCover systems require an internet connection to work, as - much like the abortive DIVX DVD rental system - the software will connect automatically to central servers in order to download updates and new compatibility lists." (from wikipedia)
So, this means that it is supposed to be connecting to the internet? That is fine as long as it is a valid site and not causing virus/spyware problems. We plan to switch to DSL.
I have tried to find a setting to turn off the connection and I don't find anything. If it is supposed to be doing this, I will just leave it. I am having other problems, but I don't think they are related to Discover.
Thanks!
Also, whenever I was in the Discover program, it won't let me view any of the games. It gives me a message saying unable to connect to server. Does it require broadband connection? Is it not compatible with AOL? Any ideas?
