First of, i'm not looking for answers. Just some ideas I can further look into

These are the questions i'm stuck on
Why is not all computer crime actively prosecuted?

How can the use of computers make it easier for crime to be commited?

How hard is it to detect computer crime and why?

State 3 areas where a database may be used. One must be for a standalone machine, Local Area Network and Wide Area Network

Thanks

Actually, what we normally object to are those that aren't straight up about asking their homework question. This time, the member was completely up front about their reason for asking the questions and their expectations of our contribution to their education.
Personally speaking, that's what I'm here for.

No it doesn't.

it still looks like homework. He claims hes stuck on those questions and am looking for answers in spite of saying not wanting answers. Otherwise, why post to begin with??

Yes Dan, secondsolution has an assignment to complete but he/she is not asking for answers, just some ideas to investigate. I dont have a problem with that otherwise I would have just shut the topic down instead of moving it to this forum.

Yes it is homework. He/she clearly states in the title it's an IT assignment.
No, he/she has not asked for answers, just for ideas to further research. That's what I supplied.
I for one don't have a problem with providing that sort of educational assistance.

Or "Ditto Annie", as the case may be - you know we males can't multi-task, make cuppa, post reply... cuppa came first :)

Thanks. I was kinda thinking about different laws in different countries for the 'Why is not all computer crime actively prosecuted?' question.

The only thing i'm having problem with is the 3 types of databases. When I signed up here was that a LAN database? And i'm not sure where a database would be used on a standalone machine?

Last question - Do a quick google or Wiki search on LAN and WAN. See if you can spot the difference. As for standalone, do you have any music on your computer?

I get LAN, a school database would be an example of this, right? And I kinda see what you're saying with standalone but I dunno a database that would be big enough to be called a wide area network database?

Would the internet count as a WAN?

The largest WAN in existence is the Internet. You need to learn how to search secondsolution and I will not post in this thread again. Have you heard of Google?
