I have 2 ISP"s. Aol and Earthlink. Earthlink was installed by the PC manufacturer. When I use Aol and go to a product updaate link, it automatically changes to Earthlink for the connection and I am kicked off Aol.

How do I change this "Default" setting.

Thank you in advance for your help or comments.

Hi Hankster - I am moving your topic to the Internet Forum. I think that you are more likely to get the help that you need there. :)

AOL and earthlink are different types of ISP, AOL uses its own proprietry dial software, earthlink will use Dial-Up Networking that is part of Windows. The links you are clicking are using the default DUN account, not realising that you're online already via AOL.

Assuming you don't want to use earthlink any more you should be able to remove it in Dial Up Networking in the control panel.

First of all thank you for helping.

I want to keep both ISP"s. what I need to do is make Aol My default when I need updates from other sites. right now it goes to Earthlink, which I dont want to use for updates or tech support for my applications. Help.

Thanks

The "always dial my default connection" choice is under the connections tab in IE's tools >internet options.

Hi
Try what Tweaker told. Before that make sure that you have made AOL the defult in the same tab he mentioned. select AOL connection click Default.
