I am new to this, but this site was recommended. I am on about a '95 Pavillion computer and I thought I was uninstalling something I never used, but once I did my color has been messed up. What should be dark blue, is gray and in small pixel specks all over the screen. I have no idea what I uninstalled or how to get it back and I was hoping someone might could help. I was told to go to "start---accessories--system tools-- and system restore and then follow the steps" but I do not have a system restore. I have system wizard, would that be the same thing?? Please help!! I need color!

Are you using Windows 95?? System Restore did not come out until XP.

It sounds like you're viewing in 16 colors which is a good indicator you uninstalled your video drivers. To verify this, right-click anywhere on the desktop, select properties and click on the settings tab. You should see a drop down box labeled Color Quality that will say something like "16 colors" or 256 colors" or "16 bit" etc.. Can't do much to help you without a bit more info.
What OS (ie: Win95, Win98, etc.)?
What model is the Pavilion (usually it's right on the front, ex: a1750e, n1676s, etc.)?
What program was it you uninstalled?

It is Model 8175 I guess. I do not know what I uninstalled it listed the date of last used-- which was years ago so I uninstalled it and as soon as I did, the color has not been the same since.

Only drivers I can find for that model are for the floppy controller which is no help in this situation. We might have to go a little deeper here. Is this Windows 95?

Everything I can find indicates the video drivers for your Pavillion 8175 are on this HP page (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv424en&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=60480&os=19&lang=en).
Once you have that page open, in the "Obtain software" section, click on the "Download Only" button and tell it to save to the hard drive.
It's an .exe file so once you have it downloaded, run it and hopefully it will install the drivers you need.
