Hi. I recently installed WIN 95 on an IBM 466DX2P PC. Now, whenever I touch the mouse, the system locks up. I've tried several other mice that I know work and get the same result.
In 'Device Manager' it says 'the device is working properly'.
In the meantime, I can get around by 'tabbing' but that's beginning to be a 'P.I.T.A'.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. I enjoy your site. It's helped me a lot in the short time I've been using it.
I've tried several PS/2 mice. I've tried an IBM 2-button, a M/S 2-button and a Logitec 3-button. I did try something last night, tho. I bought a cheap serial mouse at K-mart and connected it and it worked! Don't know if this tells you anything but at least I'm finished tabbing around like an idiot!
Thanks, again.

Hey,
If this problem has been happening ever since you got the computer then chances are the computer was previously setup only for serial mouses.
If this was the case then you would have to enable PS/2 support in your BIOS.
However, if in the BIOS PS/2 support is enabled and you're still getting this problem then something is definately wrong somewhere else.
Well, regardless I'm pleased to here you're happy and that everything is working for you http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif

I'm pretty sure the mouse was enabled in BIOS. I'll check again tonite. Anyway, This is just a play PC for my kid.
Thanks!
