If you guys want something to do, then try and figure this one out.
I have a Celeron 400(OC'd to 450) 128M SDRAM, 3 Hard drives, 1 CD-ROM(24X), Creative AWE32 soundcard, Acer Scanner(310S), HP660C printer, 33.6K ext modem, UPS, Epox M/B(EP-V370B), running W95a and IE5.01, last installed Feb, 2000. I can't get the damn thing to crash or freeze, what the hell am I doing wrong?

95 is a rock, some think its the best of the bunch. I would also bet that you don't have any helper apps running. http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/wink.gif

My 15 year old son uses win95a, for the past 3 years now. He has more garbage on that computer than you can shake a stick at. He has tried shareware programs and uninstalled them a 1,000 times. And I can't believe that it still runs so smooth, not a glitch anywhere. He won't let me touch it to upgrade to win98 even. I just marvel at how will the OS runs with all of the abuse he gives it. *shrug*
One the other hand, I run two computers for myself with win95b and have had very good fortune with them. I'll not upgrade win98 or win me either for along time yet. Why fix something that ain't broke? http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well TopDog, it must be something in the air down here.
P180mmx 80M RAM, 2 Hard drives, 1 CD-ROM(40X), Creative AWE64 soundcard, Diamond Stealth2000 Vid card plus Voodooo2 3dfx card, Microtek SCSI Scanner (Adaptec SCSI card), Epson printer, 56k internal WINmodem!, PACKARD BELL 680 Mobo!, running W95a, PLUS!, IE5.5, Office97 and lots of other junk.
Only had one problem in 12 months (lost partitions - still don't know why!)

I'm thinking about going back to 95. It sure had fewer problems than 98.

I've got a 486/SX25 (!) down in the basement running W95. 28.8 modem (no-name), Seagate HD (very small), on-board sound and vid., 32Mb RAM. Lost the cover to the case years ago (I vac it out when I remember).
Last BSOD was in July of '99........

A ditto here too. I've got a 95b which still has the original install around Feb of 99. I've got tons of freeware, loaded and unloaded lots of major programs, one failed slave drive and added Matrox board and other goodies. I even partitioned it with Linux 5.2 and later uninstalled it but never had to re-install Windows.
P200 64 RAM AWE32 (simple but effective) and it never crashes or freezes with one exception when I updated DirectX 7 which screwed up my Matrox.
Next to it I have a 98SE with (for my budget) top of the line goodies. It hangs all the time.
