I'm new to the group and I'm grateful that I was allowed to join.

I use a Mac periodically and I'm learning as I go. I've never had any issues until today. I wanted to download the Lame add-on to use with audacity but Safari won't go past the original URL address to continue to the download page. The address bar changes color but doesn't go to the linked page. It just stays right where I started.

And it does that to anything I want to download. I tried a few other downloads just to check but none of them will go to the correct download page. It will go to any site I ask it to go to except the next one after hitting the download link.

I did get to download some software updates. I guess they come right from Apple. Restarted a couple times and still no good. Safari seems like a pretty good browser and always worked for all other downloads until today.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I could go about trying to resolve this?

Does this happen with any site you try to download from or just one specific site?

All sites.

Have you tried using Firefox?

No, I'll try that & let you know but that is only a workaround.
Safari just won't go "hunting"!

Thanks

The only reason I asked was to see if it was some kind of larger problem

Firefox won't allow me to download from any website either. It just stays there, oblivious to my request.
Now what?

Firewall? Router? You may want to contact your ISP.

Thanks, I'll look into that.
