I get good video but zero sound playing avi files. I have an Imac G5, MacOSX 10.4.9, QuickTime 7.1.5. Any ideas?

AVI is not a fully supported format on the Mac. Some AVI movies will simply not play completely. You can always purchase the AVI QTY add on from Apple if AVI videos are that important to you.
