What I do is copy the address, take it into windows media player, and post the url of it in there.
If its already downloaded once, it should start playing.

If so, SOMETIMES
you can just go into File>Save As...
and save the file you just streamed

Doesnt always work though.

you can save/download videos to your computer, using an add on (for Firefox), called VideoDownloader. Just go to this site:http://www.videodownloader.net/

to install the add on, as well as some additional software (it's all free) so that you can play and convert the videos that you've downloaded.

thank you everyone for your help but i still have to re download the song from you tube is there a way to stream it and then download the full file to the computer but quicker, because if the song was 100mb and i already streamed it i dont want to re download it i would rather have it just get sent to my computer with the full file size of 100mb but just download what i streamed much quicker than how long it took me to stream if that makes sense. thanks for help

Streamed multimedia files are usually deleted by the browser once viewed, so you will need to download it again. The stream-capturers mentioned are preemptive tools, that is you should use them to save the stream to a file first, they can't do much after you've already streamed it with some other method. And no, there is no way to make the file download faster than however long it takes to download to your PC - streaming is the same as downloading (except a stream isn't stored permanently unless you use the above tools).

I agree with what oracle128 said- I think you'll need to download it again. I haven't found an alternative to just downloading it, although to you use the add-on I mentioned before (VideoDownloader), you have to "stream" the file/video first (i.e. you have to actually stream the entire video completely through first, before you try to save/download the video to your computer (using VideoDownloader). I hope that makes sense!
