My mom is having a problem w/ her Outlook Express. In the last couple of days, when she opens it up, she sees the same email in her inbox 3 or 4 times. It comes up as a new message and everyone of them has the same date and time. And when her send/receive thing comes up and it says 2 of 9 and it keeps runnign, but looks stuck and when you try and close it, it says it's finishing sending the current message, but it never seems to close out. Her computer is slow anyway, but this seems to make it worse. I tried to send her an email from my hotmail account, but it never came through cause the send/receive thing was still running. I don't know if I explained this right. I haven't used Outlook Express in a long time, cause I can't seem to get it to work on my computer. But that's another issue. I just wonder if the problem w/ hers is a virus. And, if so, how do we fix it. I tried to do a scan w/ her Norton Virus, it was so slow to come up, I didn't bother to even try it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi there, What version of Outlook express is she using? In my option norton anti-virus isn't really the best virus scanner to use, try using AVG 7.5. AVG is much better detecting newer viruses and is continuously getting update for so that your computer is always safe. Norton Anti-virus isn't cheap, and it really doesn't do a good job on detecting viruses. The outlook express problem could be caused by a virus that Norton hasn't found or the computer has got some spyware, or ad-ware or maybe even malware, all three of these things can course these types of problems. If they are left on your computer long enough. And with AVG Anti-Virus it also scans incoming emails, before you are able to read them. And if an email has a virus AVG won't allow you to view it, or it will caution you not to open it. Have a go at what i have said and please let me know how you get on.

I use AVG myself and I liked it better than Norton. I'll see if she'll let me install AVG. And I also have Ad-aware and Spybot S&D on mine. Thanks.
