I am trying to move files that are also in another drive but they can't be moved as they are all needed for the system to work.
I have a main drive D ,that contains the same files that my E drive contains ,I need to reduce the size of the E drive which is a partition by moving files but the pc won't let me . The E drive partition seems to be the drive that contains the system files. Is there any means of getting round this?

Maybe if you can say what files exactly you're copying to another partition.
I wondering if you're copying "Windows" files and if so, why?

well, its best to repost that info as requested here since you did start a new thread. After all you do have over 380 posts and we dont have time to reread all of your posts incase you have already provided that info. Besides others who may be able to help may read this post and not your others.
