I have been trying some different avenues of help and still not coming up with anything. I seem to be having browser problems that is causing a vicious circle of problems. I can't download the updated IE6 because my IE 5 isn't working correctly. I have stumbled across a possible problem and don't know how to fix it. Would javascript have anything to do with my problems? One time I got on a screen (don't reallyknow how I did it and can't seem to repeat it) that showed that javascript was damaged. I remember that I used to have the java cup on my desktop and it hasn't been there for awhile. I found a java website and downloaded something and now I have the java cup in my control panel but it is not on the desktop and javascript does not come up in my programs. Am I making any sense? I really don't know what I am talking about. Can you help? The only thing I have changed is that now I upgraded to Compuserve 7.0 instead of Compuserve 2000. Compuserve said that 7.0 uses its own browser, but I am still having the same problem.

OK lets clarify something here
Java and Javascript are not the same.
If you had a coffee cup logo then that is Java. Try updating it at http://java.sun.com just to make sure it's totally up to date.
As to IE6 I've run it on NT4 boxes with no problems.

I had already found the java/sun website and downloaded the updated java. It is in my add/remove but javascript is not. I do have windows Me and its not so much that I want IE6 as I just would like IE 5 to work.

Hi
Javescript doesn't come to Add/Remove Programs and it is built into the web browser, not installed by Java.
Java was developed by Sun whilst Javascript by Netscape.
Java applets rather than Javascript relates to Java.

Reinstalling IE is usually the way to do that

Hello.. ME has a built-in IE self repair tool, it might be a good idea to try it, however, it is well hidden. You have to follow this path to get there, click start then proceed to programs, from programs, get to accessories, from accessories, get system tools, from system tools, get to system informations. from tool bar of system informations, open tools tab, hopefully you can find Internet explorer repair tool. If it is not there, other option is to go in control panel, add/remove programs, try to find Microsoft internet explorer and tools, highlight it, click add/remove and select repair IE.. hopefully 1 of theses will work for you..
