i'm on dial up and when i go into my network connections i see my i.p address and i see a subnet mask address(which i havent noticed before maybe just something i've over looked)...there isnt a subnet mask on my desktop but this one im using is a laptop with sp2 so it could be different....

just checking to see if this is right for a dial up connection and not a dialer virus....although i did spyware checks and virus scans, and a log file and it came up with nothing.

If you are on dialup then the subnet mask will be assigned/setup according to the ISP.
You would only want it manually configured if you had a LAN.
