IE 7 and 6 muck up

Morning all

Don't know if anyone can help on this at all

I have a HP Compaq DX2200 running XPSP2, it has had no end problems, and as it is used in a office situation cannot be wiped as well as a first measure as there is a long setup process, the machine was initially crashing all the time.

HP have been out and replaced, the RAM, the PSU and the Mobo!

In the panic of this machine crashing IE7 and IE6 were loaded ontop of each other, then the problems with IE became apparant

When going into either IE6 or IE7, if you click on help and about IE, you have the likes of version , cipher strength product ID etc, normally this has version history and information next to them etc, but it is blank in IE6 and 7, I have tried the basic remove of both and reinstall and still no joy, I have also tried taking it from the reg, what is the best way of completly getting rid of it and starting over, other than wiping it clean?

Symptons of it are trying to click on links, not allowing, not loading websites etc

Any help would be great as my boss is about to shoot me :)
