I would say check out HP or Lexmark.
They both use ink cartridges that have the print
heads built in,so,if you gat a bad clog, you can
just replace it.

Hmm im pretty sure you could find one at sams club, they always seem to have a good deal on the multi function printers. I also agree wtih leroy on the HP and Lexmark comment, I personally have always used HP and find them highly reliable. Oh and one last thing, wrong forum m8.

I check out how much ink cartridges cost first. I've found most online printer ink vendors have cheap Epson cartridges. Very few (if any, I've never found one) sell cheap HP cartridges.
I bought an Epson 3-in-1 (CX 5000) because I've had good luck with Epsons and I can get ink for around $5 (U.S.) per cartridge. Oh yeah, and because it has Vista drivers.

Are the cartridges really that cheap? Is that for black ink or color?

Don't just compare ink prices - make sure you factor in cartridge sizes too.

I pay $5.50 per cartridge, regardless of color, for this printer at Inkgrabber.com. However, this model requires four cartridges...black, cyan, yellow and magenta...unlike others which combine the three colors into one cartridge.
On the other hand, my experience with Epsons is that they use ink economically. I know this one uses a lot less ink than the Lexmark 3-in-1 I got rid of.

I get generic cartridges on ebay cheap and they work fine.
I have an epson CX3200,but I had an epson printer before
and it clogged so bad on factroy cartridges it couldn't be cleaned.
Replacing the print head would have cost a lot more than
the printer was worth.

yeah, I didnt factor the sizes, and I would have to agree, they need to start making a more cost efficient way to replace items inside such machines, a lot of these are going to waste over one part.

I buy my ink cartridges from: www.printerinkwarehouse.com.
They are refurbished (not new), but work just fine, and are guarenteed.
Reasonably priced and fast delivery.
I have bought HP and Lexmark.
Just thought I would throw this in, for what it's worth.
