Troubles with streaming vids

I own a brand new top of the line computer flush with high speed cable internet. The browser I use (firefox) loads pages at blazing rates and nothing seems to stop it on top of the line online games. However, when I begin to play movies or video clips that are streamed on site such as youtube it buffers for a while and then it just freezes.

Does anybody have any suggestions out there that might help me out?

You can try updating your Flash player;

Also, Java;

Hey thanks. For some reason I now have a problem downloading java with mozilla. It downloads in the add-ons bar and then it resonds and says installation blah blah blah has failed with -260. Then I press okay and it tells me that "the signing could not be verified".
