If ANYONE can help I'll be forever in your debt!!
This is my problem, a few days ago I burned a DVD (I have done others with no problems) of pic's and movies from my parents trip to Mexico. When I went to view the DVD in my DVD player there was no preview for all the files, but putting it back into the pc to view the files, they where there just not viewable. so I went back to the folder of pic's on my pc and was unable to view them too. The files details, size everything is the same and fine, the pictures are there, theres just NO WAY to view them and no other program will open them. (Note-> these are the ONLY files effected, I have over 2,000 pictures and everything is fine except for these pic's and movies.) When I open them in windows picture & fax viewer it says "No Preview Available" I've tried all other programs on my pc (plus downloaded infran view and others) but no luck. I recieve errors like not able to open, problem with my file header...ect. I have tried system restore, moving and copying but nothing. I've tried to edit, rename but am unable to sence no other can open them. I have checked the files details and it says the files where "modified" the same time I created the DVD, but as far as I know I didn't modify anything???? I've been to many sites and have been doing LOTS of reading/investigating about this and so far I've come to the conclusion that these files are corrupted and has something to do with a lost or incorrect "file header" If it helps I'm running on Windows XP home edition and have a Emachines T3106 desk top. I hope I have explained it ok / added enough info. If anyone has any ideas or a solution to this that would be great!! Any help is better than none, at this point I'm lost.
