I have a cable modem and Windows 2003 xp. I bought a wireless N broadband router. ALL I want to do at this time is continue to run my hardwired PC thru this router. I thought I could just switch out the routers and be good to go (im pretty sure I hooked the wires right), But that is not the case. I cant get a connection. I will be using a wiresss notebook too. What do I need to do? Thank you!

Welcome :)

To configure the router you have to connect to it using a cable.
You should then be able to access the router config. Check the manual for the correct address e.g. 192.168.1.1

If you cannot connect then check to see if you are getting an IP.
Goto Network connections and goto the properties for your local area connection.

Right click and choose Status. You should have an IP like 192.168.1.100
If it is 169... then you are not connected correctly.

See if you can Repair the connection.

Also check the connection properties, TCP/IP Properties and
Make sure it is set to automatically assign IP
