cant delete files

alright i was trying to install a copy of nero 7.0 on my new computer but it said it had compatability issues and it wouldnt complete the install.. though it did manage to put some of the files on my computer...
so i go find the new version and i try installing it and as soon as it says windows is configuring the install it just quits out and does nothing..
so i figured it might be that i have a directory for it already so i tried deleting the nero files and it says i dont have premission to delete these files.... would any one happen to know how it get rid of them my account is set to admin so i should be able to do what i want right?
and aslo any advice any one would have as to what i should do to optimize or configure my vista to be a little more user friendly would much appreciated... hope yall can help

Did you try to install Nero from a CD or from a downloaded installation file?

If from a download and if you got the download through a P2P (file sharing) network, the most likely explanation is the download is corrupt because the original file wasn't usable in the first place. P2P networks do seem to have a lot of badly done (and therefore unusable) ripoffs floating around.

If it's a downloaded file through P2P software, did you scan it for viruses before starting the installation?
