HELP IN NEED

when trying to use the cd driver to play cds or burn cds it says that there is no cd driver hooked up to the computer and to plug it in. But this computer came with one it worked 24 hours before. I have had to erase everything and start over twice now and I don't want to remove everything a third time to have the same problem again what do I do? Agravated and confused. Any answers to my problem ?
