Ok I'll start off by telling you that last summer I installed Real Player one night. The next day my laptop was frozen and upon restart it had massive lag taking 5 minutes to start up, scratchy laggy audio, and would freeze constantly making it impossible to run any programs efficiently at all. After frustration I decided to just whipe it and that was done. Fast forward to a few days ago. I download Real Alternative because I hear it's better than Real Player which is junk and doesn't cause any problems with spyware, etc. Works fine then I go to bed. Wake up the next day my laptop is frozen and upon restart the EXACT same thing happens as when I installed Real Player. I uninstall Real Alternative and do a system restore to long before it was installed but to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone knows how I could possibly fix this as I don't want to lose all of my data. There doesn't seem to be anything unusual running in my processes so I'm completely blank on how to fix this, as I thought a system restore would have changed whatever harmful settings got changed when Real Alternative was installed. On a side note I ran a super slow AVG scan and it says ntoskrnl.exe has changed, but AVG is not showing it as a threat. Anyone have any ideas?
