I have a BT Voyager 2091 wireless modem which is set up to my Pipex broadband. I can run my PC off it with an ethernet cable, but I cannot get the Voyager 1065 Wireless Laptop Adapter that came with it to work in my laptop, it says there is limited or no connection. I have heard it might be a SP2 issue, but I can't find a fix. Any suggestions?
Many thanks

Welcome :)

Please give more info about your network setup.

Have you configured the modem to broadcast?
Can you see the connection and connect to it?

I can connect with the network from my laptop, but it just reads limited or no connectivity, even though the signal strength is excellent. The wireless indicator light on the router is on so its working.

Also found my main computer IP address is 192.168.1.2 and there is a default gateway value, the laptop comes up with an IP of 169.254.105.56 but has no default gateway value

169 means that the laptop is not connected to the modem.

I'm guessing the modem has a router?
Does it allow for multiple connections?

Have happens if you try to connect when the PC is off?
Have you tried resetting the router?

Have been turning router on and off periodically, and have tried it both attached to the main computer on and off and its not attatched at the moment, no difference. The modem says router on it. Router has 1 USB connection and 1 ethernet connection port.

Thanks

The connection status box says the network did not assign a network address to the computer.

Have you configured the laptop to connect and added the wireless key?

Pre-configured with wireless encryption (WEP)

Had a look around the site. Can you give me a clue to what I'm looking for?

Thanks

If the WEP was pre-configured then it means if you want to connect to the wireless network wirelessly then you will have to enter the key.

Did you do this when connecting to the wireless network?

Yes, a ten digit code? I had to try two different ones and it seemed to accept the second. Still limited connectity though

If you are connected then you will have a LAN IP ~(192)
Do you have that?

If not disconnect from the connection then connect again, entering the key again.

I can't even get an IP address, the status is not available, even when the modem is reset. :(
