Hello everyone. I am trying to set a static IP on both PC and router. i have a D-Link DI-524 router and Linksys Wireless-G network adapter. My service provider is wowway and my OS is WinXP-SP2 (in the slight chance that may come in handy). I first checked the IP's with the ipconfig /all command. here is what i have.

I have set my TCP/IP settings on my computer to what was on the ipconfig list

Now the problem is, im still online with my PC settings static but when i change the settings on my router i can't go online anymore. Im almost sure that im typing somthing in wrong, and im not even on the right track please do tell. I greatly appreciate the help ahead of time.

You can't set your router to static if your isp is using
dynamic IP's.
The IP is reset periodically and resets any time the modem is powered down.
The ip you set in your router is also a local network IP and it
won't work for internet.
What are you trying to set it up for?

As above, you can set your LAN IP's to static as you have control over the LAN.

You cannot set the WAN IP. This is assigned to your by your ISP.

Set the router back to dynamic.
