DVD play and read

Help
How can I repair scratches on my dvd having problems reading it and playing it.
Someone told me try toothpaste
Is it safe and how do I do it
I cant afford to replace this TV series set maybe I cant even get it anymore

I would not use toothpaste, it may scratch the dvd even more depending on the brand/type etc. Buy a cd repair kit.

alot of them are combos, will repair both. I would suggest if you pick up one, that it says for dvd also.
