(my apologies if I've posted this in the wrong forum...)

Hi,
I have XP, and an Epson Stylus 5400 (3-in-1 printer, but it's not a fax).
What are the options for me to send and receive occasional faxes?

I looked into efax, but if I understood it correctly, they charge $16.95 per month, and I only rarely send a fax, so it's not worth paying that.

Perhaps I should just get a basic fax machine? But I kinda figured there would be a more high-tech way to go... ?

Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
Richard

Back on Windows 98 I used to have a program called QuickLink which was able to send and receive faxes. Pretty sure it was free, Just required a link to the phone line (via dialup modem).

Thanks for the suggestion...
I don't think I have a dial-up modem (certainly not an external one). How would I find out if there's one within the PC?
I do have a landline phone line...
Maybe I could just buy a dial-up modem? But if I was talking on that landline, I wouldn't be able to receive an incoming fax, would I?
Thanks,
Richard

Nope. Hmm, Come to think of it, You may need to just be connected to the internet. Was so long ago I can't even remember :hmm:

Edit - Just to correct myself, The program is called Quicklink III
