My room mate has a lap top and is having a hell of a time achieving a full strength connection through our home network.
The other computer in the house that connects wirelessly has no issues at all, nor does this one.
The laptop was recently reformatted due to sluggish performance, and according to the room mate, that is when the problem started occurring. However, he said that he didn't forget to install anything related to the internet or anything else that could possibly disturb the connection like this.
He is supposed to receive a total of 54mbps, which he does... the problem is that the signal strength for the connection always reads "poor"... which apparently causes his troublesome internet problems.
I'm not educated as far as viruses/malware go, but is it possible that one of those could hinder the connection?
