windows and mac on a network?

hey guys i was wondering if there is any free program that will let me set up both a pc and a mac on the same network to share files

i know thats seems a bit vague, but there is a program that i use on my windows pc's at home its called hamachi ( www.hamachi.cc) and it allows my pcs to communicate through a pseudo lan...the website can explain it MUCH better than me.

they have hamachi for mac...and i have no clue to install it. they have instructions but im not as mac literate as i am computer literate .

or if there is a free program like hamachi...designed for mac

any advice/suggestions is always welcome...thanx a bunch

you should not need a third party program to share files betwen mac and pc. See this (http://www.mac-connect.com/win_mac_samba.php)
