I got Illustrator along with some other adobe programs. I forgot why, but for some reason (it was a good reason at the time) I deleted the folder I installed it in, planning on installing it on another hard drive. Then I just couldn't uninstall or re-install it. So i went to regedit and I deleted the registry to get it off add and remove programs along with all the other illustrator-related registries I could find but whenever I run the installer it just tries to uninstall it, but it doesn't exist so it just shuts down on me. I don't know what to do! I want to use this program!

That's what is causing the problem. One never wants to uninstall a program that way.
Use Programs and Features in Control Panel to remove programs properly.

If you use System Restore and select a date before you deleted the folder you should be ok.

I know. Believe me, it wasn't intentional. I completely forgot it was in that folder.

Thats what I've been doing and what I've been trying to do. Unfortunately it isn't working for illustrator right now so I can't officially "uninstall it". I was hoping to find a way to get windows to not see it as installed so I can re-install it, but so far I haven't been able to. I did, however, delete the entry from the programs and features box via regedit. Fat lotta good that did.

If you use System Restore and select a date before you deleted the folder you should be ok.I tried that and my computer froze mid-restore. I'd rather not try that again thankyavrymuch. I'll just wait til I can get my hands on CS3. Gracias for the help tho!
