I have a home network with a D-link G624T wirelss router connected to my PC; partner has a laptop in her study. This has been going OK for some months. Got home today and she says she can't do email. I re-boot her laptop and it says it can find 4 networks but none are mine. I re-boot my machine and my internet is fine, but her machine even after re-booting yet again can't find my network. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

It doesn't seem likely that someone turned-off your router's SSID broadcast while you were gone, but the symptoms sound like it. Or maybe someone turned it off some time ago, after setting up both computers so they would connect.

From the working computer, run the browser and type in the router's IP address:
From an Internet search, it looks like that router's address is
http://192.168.0.1
The manual will tell you the router's IP address, if that's not right.

I assume you know the user name and password, when it asks.
Again, the manual will tell you the default values, if they were not changed.
If not try admin for the user name, and leave the password field blank.
If that doesn't work, leave the user name blank and type admin for the password.

Then choose (maybe) Advanced/Performance...?
If you can find SSID broadcast, make sure it's not Disabled if you want the other computer to find it: Save the settings and exit your browser.
Later, after the other computer finds the router, and connects OK, you can come back and Disable it again, as a security precaution so no one else sees your router. It's possible to find your router if it's not broadcasting SSID, but it will help to hide it if you disable it..

You DO have encryption turned-on for the wireless connection, I hope.
The choice of encryption method depends on the capabilities of all of the equipment that you connect. Best to worst: WPA2, WPA Pre-shared key, WEP.

This is a whole other matter, and not addressed by this post, so don't turn it on without doing some research.

Thanks Paul_K - will try that tonight - though nothing had changed from one day to next.
