Hello,
I recently bought a second computer and am trying to set it up with my newly purchased modem/router combo, and since I'm here, I'm sure you've already realized I'm having problems. (:
The router is a D-Link DSL-2540B "ADSL2/2+ Modem with 4-Port Ethernet Router." The modem works just peachy, or so I'm lead to believe from the fact that I can ping the gateway address and that my ISP was able to confirm the connection. Which leaves us with the router, I cannot connect to the internet at all. The physical connections (see: cables) are all fine, so I'm thinking it has to do with the internal settings.
I mentioned my ISP earlier and you're probably wondering why I don't just ask them for help. Well, I don't want to pay them 100 dollars (10-month contract of 9.99 per) to let them walk me through this. It's just too much for something so seemingly small.
I've tried playing with the internal settings myself, but I honestly don't know where to begin and eventually just end up pressing the reset button on my router.
I'm running on an ADSL line, the modem/router is wired, and my computers aren't on a network currently. I'm also sporting a copy of Windows XP Professional, SP2. I'm not sure if it matters, but my original modem is a Westell WireSpeed 2110.
Here's a picture of the D-Link combo's IP settings: http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/7760/routermodemll6.png
Sorry for the wall of text, and I hope I've given enough information.
Thanks in advance and all that good stuff.
